2019 Gregoire GL8.6 EASYClean Grape Harvester

Vineyards require specialized, narrow-profile tractors designed to maneuver tight row spacing without damaging vines. Standard row spacing often requires sub-50 to 80-horsepower tractors like the Fendt 200 V/F/P series or compact Kubotas.

Mechanical harvesters are excellent for large commercial operations because they significantly reduce labor costs and pick grapes much faster than manual crews. Smaller or premium vineyards often prefer hand-picking to prevent vine damage and allow for strict, cluster-by-cluster sorting.

When selecting an orchard tractor, consider factors such as row spacing, maneuverability, horsepower, attachments and the tasks the tractor will perform. Our team can help match your operation with the right equipment.

Essential tools for training vines include automated pre-pruners, tying tape tools (like the Max Taper) for securing canes upward without girdling, and wire-tensioning tools for trellising.

Renting is typically best for seasonal or short-term operations like harvesting or heavy-duty tilling. If a machine (such as a daily-use vineyard tractor) is used year-round, buying or financing generally makes more financial sense.
